Hi there! Welcome to Booktomato! I find myself drawn to stories about the good old underdog, characters who march to their own beat. Tacky the Penguin's motto is "to thine own tropical shirt be true." He is loud when his mates are quiet. He is silly when his mates are proper. The other penguins that share his iceberg have no idea what to do with him. When hunters come to catch penguins, Tacky's individualism pays off. He scares them away, and his friends learn to appreciate his uniqueness.

This book is the first in a series of stories starring this silly penguin, and each story is funny and sweet with illustrations that made my kids laugh out loud.

What are your plans this week? Every couple of week, I spend some time cooking a bunch of freezer friendly meals to store away for when things get super busy during the week. I might be anchored to the kitchen for a day, but it leaves me free later to find more great kid's books! Whatever you do this week, take some time to relax and read a good book.
